Glasgow hotel plan dropped in favor of student accommodation
A developer has progressed proposals for purpose built student accommodation in Glasgow city center after previously gaining consent for a hotel at the site. Caledon Property Group hopes to knock down the disused commercial buildings on the corner of Hutcheson Street and Trongate, and replace them with a 173-bed study housing facility. In February 2020, permission was granted by Glasgow City Council for a 157-bedroom aparthotel at the site.
